Torture is Wrong
Many Unitarian Universalists joined people from other faiths to rally against torture in Washington DC in front of the White House on Thursday June 11, 2009. Here is a picture of Bill Sinkford, President of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations, speaking at the event sponsored by the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT). Greater Washington Area UU Pilgrimage Transylvania & Budapest

During July of 2009 the Greater Washington Area UU Council is organizing a pilgrimage to Transylvania and Budapest to explore and experience the historic roots of Unitarianism.

The UUSJ Collaborative Fund supports programs promoting cooperation to enhance the impact of social justice endeavors among congregations, organizations and individuals. Priority will be giving to collaborative projects involving two or more member congregations/organizations of UUSJ, to promote best practices in areas such as environmental justice and reducing oppression. The UUSJ co-chairs have authority to approve expenditures for a variety of collaborative program expenses, for example, grants to congregations and individuals, keynote speakers for UUSJ educational programs, and Green Fest exhibit fees, none to exceed $300.
