2009 Awards

 

UUSJ Collaboration Award – effective social justice work that has involved cooperation with another UU congregation, other faith based groups, or non-religious organizations

 

 

UUSJ Economic Justice Award – work for the systemic changes needed to promote a more just economy and compassionate society

 

 

UUSJ Giraffe Award - an individual who has stretched his/her capacity for social justice over a long period of time; someone who has stuck her/his neck out for others

 

 

UUSJ GLBTQ Award –work and witness for the civil rights and social acceptance of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning persons

           

 

UUSJ Youth Group Award (up to age 18) recognizes a group of youth from a congregation who worked together to make progress toward social justice

 

 

To nominate a person or group for any of these awards, please complete the following nomination form and return it to UUSJ via email.   Nomination should include examples of how the person’s actions inspire, support and express social action reflecting UU values.
